About Us:
The Laurier Triathlon club promotes the sport of Triathlon at all levels. The club is a member of the University Multisport Series, offering triathlon, duathlon, indoor-outdoor sanctioned competitions.
Our Purpose:
"Facilitate student access to inter-university triathlon competitions and provide a team environment for weekly training groups and skill development sessions. "
History:
- Founded September 2002 as WLUSU Campus Club
- Weekly training sessions begin - October 2002
- Club joins University Multiport competition series- Oct 2002
- Club places 5th overall at Trent Duathlon - October 2002
- Club membership reaches 33 - October 2002
- Laurier Triathlon Club places 3rd at Queen’s Mountain Bike Duathlon, ousting University of Toronto from the top 3. - November 2002
- Laurier Triathlon Club hosts Triathlon Training and Racing seminar - January 2003
- Laurier Triathlon Club wins Best New Club of Year award by WLUSU Campus Clubs - April 2003
- Wlutri.com Website Launched - September 2003
- Club member attends first annual University National Championship in Montreal - September 2003
- Club Executive Structure re-organized with new positions - October 2003
- Surf'n Turf 2004 Race Committee formed - October 2003
- Fundraiser BBQ outside of Turret - November 2003
- Record club attendance at Queen's Hammer Dash'n Burn Race in Kingston - November 2003
- Laurier Triathlon Club members take top places at Ontario University Multisport Championships - March 2004
- Laurier Triathlon Club partners with Laurier Athletics recreation Triathlon Training program - September 2006
